Welcome to Traveltant

Picking a place to eat is a difficult decision, especially when there are plenty of choices in cities such as NYC. Traveltant  is a recommender system that suggests places to eat based on the following factors: the user’s and friends’ interests, in addition to the popularity of the place to eat. Traveltant mines interests of the user and his/her friends from their Facebook account and obtains the places list with their popularity from the widespread service Yelp.
Traveltant started as a Windows Phone application that helps users plan their trips, and it focuses now on personalized restaurants suggestion. The name stands for Travel Consultant. It's a part of a research project in the University of Arkansas. It is created by Sultan Alfarhood and supervised by Dr. Susan Gauch, and Dr. Nilanjan Banerjee.
